Trip Introduction
Tilicho Lake is the world’s highest lake in the Manang District of Nepal. There are four regions that are passed through on the trek; Lamjung, Manang, Mustang, and Myagdi. Lamjung and Myagdi of the lower elevations are both predominantly Hindu and with lush green subtropical valleys with villages and terraced farming. Manang and Mustang are of the higher elevations and are predominantly Tibetan Buddhist. From Manang we go to the mail valley to the west and trek up to the Tilicho Lake. The trek also goes through Buddhist villages and Hindu holy sites, most notably the village of Muktinath, a holy site for both Buddhists and Hindus, and Braga, one of the oldest monasteries in the region. Our trek goes counter-clockwise from Besisahar to Jomsom and reaches its summit in Thorong La (pass) at the height of 5416m. The route goes past the following mountains: Manaslu (an 8,000-plus meter peak), Langtang Himal, Annapurna II and IV, Annapurna III and Gangapurna.

Day 07:Siri Kharka (4,1400 m) 5-6 hours
Day 08:Tilicho Base Camp (4,140 m/) 6-7 hours
Day 09:Visit Tilicho Lake (4,949 m) then back to Siri Kharka (4,1400 m) 5-6 hours
Day 10:Yak Kharka (4040m) 4-5 hours
Day 11:High Camp (4600 m) 5 - 6 hours
Day 12:Muktinath (3,800) via Thorong La Pass (5416 m) : 7 - 8 hours
Day 13:Drive to Pokhara: 7-8 hours
Day 14:Fly to Kathmandu
Day 15:Final departure
Upon your arrival at the Kathmandu airport, you will be greeted by a representative from Thai Nepal Travels. After picking up your luggage and look for our representative with a Thai Nepal Travels display board at the arrival gate. After that, you will be transferred to Hotel. After check-in, you can take a rest, hang around in the city - it all depends upon your interests and condition. In the evening we will organize a "Welcome Dinner" at an excellent traditional Nepalese Restaurant where you will enjoy Nepalese cultural programs as well as a fine meal.

We begin our long drive to Besi Sahar early in the morning. Along the way, we will get fine views of Himalchuli and Manaslu II. En route we get to enjoy the countryside of Nepal with its green hills, winding rivers, terraced farms and of course the mighty Himalayas.

Today we begin our long drive to Besi Sahar early in the morning. We cross to the west bank of Marshyangdi River. The trail then climbs steeply and crosses a cliff face to the stone village of Jagat. The rocky trail crosses the Marshyangdi River again then follows the valley steadily uphill to Tal (1,700m), a former lakebed. Tal is the first village in the Manang district. We continue to drive through a forest of pine and fir, past the traditional village of Thanchowk to Koto, at the junction of the Nar-Phu Valley. You will get the fine views of Annapurna II (7,937m) as you approach Chame. The route crosses the Marshyangdi River again. We are overnight at Chame.

Today the trail is through a steep and narrow valley. We have our first sight of the soaring of Paungda Danda rock face, a dramatic curved rock face rising 1500m from the river. From here, we also gain excellent views of Annapurna II at the south and Pisang Peak to the northeast. We are staying in Pisang.

Today is our long day, from Pisang there are two trails, north, and south of Marshyangdi River. We follow the north route via upper Pisang. We walk through Ghyaru is a steep continuous climb of 420m and Ngawal (3,660m) it guarantees outstanding views of Mt. Annapurna, Pisang Peak. The tail continues to Mungji past the extraordinarily picturesque village and gompa of Bragha to nearby Manang. We are staying at Manang.

In order to keep fit on the trails that follow, we keep ourselves busy today with a short hike to either Bhojo Gumba or Gangapurna Lake. Or more strenuous day hikes to Milarepa’s cave and the ice Lake, high above the valley floor at 4,600m. We are overnight at Manang.

From Manang, we cross the river and continue walking on its southern side through coniferous forest. After reaching Kangsar Village we walk further up towards Siri Kharka and pass a monastery on the way. The uphill walk could be tiring but we will have Gungang Himal and Mt. Chulu in the backdrop to keep us company. We reach to Siri Kharka and have lunch here. We overnight at Siri Kharka.

After reaching Kangsar Village we walk further up towards Siri Kharka and pass a monastery on the way. The uphill walk could be tiring but we will have Gungang Himal and Mt. While the path from Siri Kharka to Tilicho Base Camp isn’t very steep or physically strenuous, it could be exhausting as we have to walk on narrow paths in loose scree and landslide area. Our trail goes through the middle of the landslide area whereby we can see impressive rock formations along the trail. We are overnight at Tilicho Base Camp..

Tilicho Lake is a large spectacularly set lake nestled at the foot of the north face of Tilicho Peak. The Lake also holds an important place for the Hindus as this sacred lake features in one of the holiest texts of the Hindus, The Ramayana. After the initial tough, steep, switchbacked ascent, our trail continues to hug the side of the mountain in a gradual to steep incline before reaching the watershed. We retrace our step and return to Tilicho Base Camp. After breakfast, we leave Tilicho Base Camp and descend towards to Siri Kharka and overnight here.

We leave Siri Kharka and descend towards Yak Kharka. On the way, we pass Tare Gumba, a thousand-year-old monastery which is very important to the local people. We follow a rock wall out of Khangsar. After crossing the river, we ascend for a while to a plateau. Next, walk until reaching Yak Kharka. We are overnight at Yak Kharka.

It is an uphill walk to High Camp. After walking for some time we cross a suspension bridge and reach Ledar village. We ascend and pass through towering cliffs before reaching Thorong Phedi, the last village before Thorong La. On this trip we are rewarded with one of the best views of Mt. Gundang, Mt. Syagang, Thorong Peak and Mt. Khatungkan. We stop to have lunch here and hike up hill to Hight camp. We are overnight at High camp.

Crossing Thorong La pass, one of the highest passes in the world will be our ultimate objective today. We will be crossing the pass from east to west (Manang to Muktinath) which is the easiest and safest direction. We get up around three in the morning and walk up the mountain. It takes about four to six hours to reach the pass, marked by chortens (Tibetan Buddhist stupas) and prayer flags, and en route.
After reach Muktinath we have lunch and visit the Muktinath Temple. Muktinath, an ultimate destination for Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims, is a beautiful place. There are water spouts where fresh water pours out channeled from the streams above the temple. As the trail extends we can enjoy the magnificent views of Mt. Dhaulagiri. You can even buy a fossilized mollusk, called ‘Shaligram’ as a memento. We are overnight at Muktinath

Today early morning we take private jeep to Pokhara while looking at views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges and over the deepest gorge in the world. On arrival at Pokhara airport, you will transfer to the hotel. You can discovering the beautiful Pokhara Valley leisurely. While we walk along the bank of Phewa Lake, a second biggest lake of Nepal, we cannot stop admiring the state of Fish Tail Mountain reflecting in the lake. We can also take a boat around the Fewa Lake Evening time, we overnight at Pokhara.

After breakfast we take a flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu, Upon our arrival in Kathmandu, we will be escorted into our hotel. You can do some shopping or walk around in the streets of Thamel, or take a rest, hang around in the city - it all depends upon your interests and condition. In the evening, there will be a farewell dinner hosted by Thai Nepal Travels to celebrate the successful completion of our trip. Overnight in Kathmandu. And overnight at Kathmandu.

Our 15 Days Annapurna Circuit - Tilicho Lake treks comes to an end today. A representative from Thai Nepal Travels and Treks will take you to the airport approximately 2 hours before the scheduled flight. Your safety is of paramount concern while traveling with THAI NEPAL TRAVELS AND TREKS. Please note that your leader has the authority to amend or cancel any part of the itinerary if it is deemed necessary due to safety concerns. Every effort will be made to keep to the above itinerary; however, since this adventure entails traveling in remote mountainous regions, we cannot guarantee that we will not deviate from it. Weather conditions, the health condition of a group member, unexpected natural disasters, etc., can all contribute to changes in the itinerary. The leader will try to ensure that the trip runs according to plan, but please be prepared to be flexible if required.
For the person who cannot continue trek until the end of trekking in case of any reason, he/she please note that there will be no refund. In case of the flight delay/cancellation after finishing of the trek, you will be responsible for all your expenses. Please also note that you will not be entitled to any refund for the services (such as hotel, transport, flight, etc.) included in the package that you would not use later.
For all accommodations at Annapurna base camp trek are in local lodges on a twin, triple or four-bed sharing basis. If we prefer a single room, we may indicate our preference and get single rooms on request by paying a single supplement. However, there are several places that do not allow single accommodations in the Annapurna base camp.
Accommodations
We will be providing you at Hotel Marshyangdi or equivalent in Kathmandu, Hotel Landmark or equivalent in Pokhara and teahouses during the trek. All accommodations are on the twin-shared basis. Single supplement will be served on request and will cost an additional.
Meals
During the trek, you can enjoy authentic Nepalese food as well the more common international cuisine (Tibetan, Continental, Italian, Indian, etc.). Breakfast and dinner will be served from the tea-houses or from a lodge menu where we spend the night whereas lunch will be served on the way to the next destination. All meals will be provided during trekking while only breakfast will be available while in Kathmandu and Pokhara. There will also be welcome and farewell dinners for guests.
