The Langtang region is the third most popular trekking area in Nepal. Langtang has many things going for it: it’s close to Kathmandu, there’s a wide range of scenery, you get right into the mountains within a couple of days, and there are lots of possible trek combinations. For Langtang trek you will passes Tamang villages to a collection of high alpine pastures, glaciers and peaks on the border with Tibet. Although the trek passes areas, there are still plenty of lodges along the route. Hence, Langtang region is one of the most popular trekking regions for those wishing a short trek from Kathmandu into the Himalayas influenced by Tibetan lifestyle. Moreover, accompanying with the varieties of rhododendron, bamboo forests, majestic waterfalls and snow-capped we make the trek one of the most diverse treks nearby Kathmandu.

Day 01:Arrive in Kathmandu

Day 02:Drive to Syabrubesi (1,550 m) 145 km/ 8 hours

Day 03:Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel (2,380 m) 6 hours

Day 04:Langtang village (3307m): 4-5 hours

Day 05:Kyanjin Gompa (3,870 m) 5-6 hours

Day 06:Explore Kyanjin Gompa (3,870 m) and Tserko Ri (5,000 m) 5-6- hours

Day 07:Lama Hotel 6-7 hours

Day 08:Syabrubesi 5 hours

Day 09:Kathmandu 7 hours

Cost includes:

    • Two nights hotel in Kathmandu with breakfast

Detail Itinerary

  • Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu

    Upon your arrival in the Kathmandu airport you will be greeted by a representative from Thai Nepal Travels. After pick up your luggage and look for our representative with a Thai Nepal Travels display board at the arrival gate. After that you will be transferred to Hotel. After check in, you can take a rest, hang around in the city - it all depends upon your interests and condition.

  • Day 2: Drive to Syabrubesi (1,550 m) 145 km/ 8 hours

    Today after breakfast you will start early drive journey to Syabrubesi; the starting point of the trek. The road is tricky because of the grubby road. During the travel you will pass through many small villages on the way. We will overnight in Syabrubesi.

  • Day 3: Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel (2,380 m) 6 hours

    Today we are following the Langtang River. You can enjoy the walk going through oak, rhododendron and bamboo forests. We cross a suspension bridge over the Bhote Kosi climb through the village of Old Syabru to cross a bridge to the south side of the Langtang River. We have a long climb in forest past the waterfalls to Bamboo, a cluster of hotels. Beyond Bamboo the trail crosses the Dangdung River, then climbs to a steel suspension bridge over the Langtang River. Then gently to a collection of six lodges at Changtang, popularly known as Lama Hotel we will overnight in Lama Hotel.

  • Day 4: Langtang village (3307m): 4-5 hours

    After breakfast, our trail continues along with dense forests. After making a steady climb up through the valley, enjoy the marvelous views of Langtang Lirung. Pass by water mills, prayer wheels, chortens, with sacred mounds of rocks with inscriptions carved on them. We are overnight at Langtang village

  • Day 5: Kyanjin Gompa (3,870 m) 5-6 hours

    After breakfast our trail continues along dense forests. After making a steady climb up through the valley, enjoy the marvelous views of Langtang Lirung. Pass by water mills, prayer wheels, chortens, with sacred mounds of rocks with inscriptions carved on them. Also pass the largest Mani wall in Nepal, made from stone with prayers written on them. The prayers written on the Mani wall is supposed to be blown away by the wind. We cross several of the wooden bridges. We are overnight at Kyanjin Gompa

  • Day 6: Explore Kyanjin Gompa (3,870 m) and Tserko Ri (5,000 m) 5-6- hours

    Today is a day to rest and explore the area. You can visit the monastery and the cheese factory, walk up the moraine to see the spectacular ice faces and tumbling glaciers of Langtang Lirung or ascend Kyangjin Ri (4,350m) which is highest point of this trek, directly behind the village, for a breath-taking panorama of the Langtang peaks. We are overnight at Kyanjin Gompa.

  • Day 7: Lama Hotel 6-7 hours

    After breakfast we rejoin the trail to Lama Hotel. The trail goes all the way downhill through forest following the river. Pass through the ethnic Tamang settlements that follow religious and cultural practices similar to the Tibetans.

  • Day 8: Syabrubesi 5 hours

    Leaving the mountains behind us our descent takes us to the Syabru Bensi where the trek was starting about a week ago.

  • Day 9: Kathmandu 7 hours

    After breakfast, we drive back to Kathmandu from Sybru Bensi which will take some 7 hours. We can take a rest or do some souvenir shopping. If we want to explore any other areas of Kathmandu, we may do that today. In the evening, there will be a farewell dinner hosted by Thai Nepal Travels to celebrate the successful completion of our trip. Overnight in Kathmandu.

  • Day 10: Final departure

    Our 10 Days Langtang Valley Trek comes to an end today. A representative from Thai Nepal Travels and Treks will take you to the airport approximately 2 hours before the scheduled flight. We hope you were enjoyed the tour with us, and we are sure you will be back making another trip somewhere with Thai Nepal Travels and Treks again.

Important Note:

Your safety is of paramount concern while traveling with THAI NEPAL TRAVELS. Please note that your leader has the authority to amend or cancel any part of the itinerary if it is deemed necessary due to safety concerns. Every effort will be made to keep to the above itinerary; however, since this adventure entails traveling in remote mountainous regions, we cannot guarantee that we will not deviate from it. Weather conditions the health condition of a group member, unexpected natural disasters, etc., can all contribute to changes in the itinerary. The leader will try to ensure that the trip runs according to plan, but please be prepared to be flexible if required.

For the person who cannot continue trek until the end of trekking in case of any reason he/she please notes that there will be no refund. In case of the flight delay/cancellation after finishing of the trek, you will be responsible for all your expenses. Please also note that you will not be entitled to any refund for the services (such as hotel, transport, flight, etc.) included in the package that you would not use later.

For all accommodations at Langtang trek are in local lodges on twin, triple or four bed sharing basis. If we prefer a single room, we may indicate our preference and get single rooms on request by paying single supplement. However, there are several places that do not allow single accommodations in the Langtang.

Accommodations

We will be providing you at Hotel Marshyangdi or equivalent in Kathmandu and teahouses during the trek. All accommodations are on twin-shared basis. Single supplement will be served on request and will cost an additional.

Meals

During the trek, you can enjoy authentic Nepalese food as well the more common international cuisine (Tibetan, Continental, Italian, Indian, etc.). Breakfast and dinner will be served from the tea-houses or from a lodge menu where we spend the night whereas lunch will be served on the way to the next destination. All meals will be provided during trekking while only breakfast will be available while in Kathmandu. There will also be welcome and farewell dinners for guests.
